Your Heart’s Story, Visualized in Real Time.

An echocardiogram is one of the most powerful, non-invasive tools we have to evaluate your heart health. Using advanced ultrasound technology, our specialists capture live images of your heart’s chambers, valves, and blood flow—giving us the precise insights needed to personalize your care.

Safe. Painless. Highly Accurate.

What is an Echocardiogram?

An accessible definition for patients who might be feeling nervous.

An echocardiogram (often just called an “echo”) is a specialized ultrasound designed specifically for your heart. Instead of radiation or X-rays, this test uses high-frequency sound waves to create live, detailed images of your heart in motion.

Our specialized cardiologists and sonographers use these images to examine:

  • Heart Size & Shape: Tracking changes that could indicate high blood pressure or heart disease.
  • Pumping Strength: Measuring how effectively your heart circulates blood to the rest of your body.
  • Valve Function: Checking for narrow or leaking valves that might disrupt normal blood flow.

  • State-of-the-Art Technology: We utilize the latest high-definition 2D and 3D ultrasound equipment, offering sharper images and more reliable data than standard machines.

What to Expect

Demystifying the appointment to reduce patient anxiety.

What to Expect During Your Visit

An echocardiogram is entirely non-invasive and typically takes between 30 to 45 minutes. There is no downtime, and you can drive yourself home or return to work immediately after.

  • Preparation: You will change into a medical gown from the waist up. You’ll lie comfortably on an exam table, usually on your left side.
  • The Procedure: The specialist will place a small, handheld device (called a transducer) against your chest with a small amount of warm gel. This gel simply helps the sound waves travel cleanly through your skin.
  • During the Test: You may feel slight, gentle pressure as the sonographer moves the transducer to capture different angles. You might also hear a pulsing “whoosh” sound—that is just the machine turning the sound of your flowing blood into something we can measure!
